I'm looking at buying an e30 within the next few weeks or so and have found a good classic insurance quote from Lancaster insurance to insure the car with.

My only question is that when asked where the car will be kept.

I have a garage which is rented from the council at the back of my house where there are about 30 council owned garages which can be rented by residents. About 30 seconds away from my house.

Will the insurance company, in this case Lancaster insurance not mind that the garage is not attached to the property I'm living at?

Will they do checks on it such as google earth or send down someone to confirm all details?

It's the same postcode. The garage is behind my back garden.

Will the insurance company ask for a tenancy agreement or something like that?
Do they ask for proof of garaging the car?

No proof asked by my insurance company. Most believe you but if theres a claim the'll look into it, any excuse not to pay out.

Just explain the situation and im sure it will be fine.

i am using lancaster insurance and i garage my car, it states in my policy that

" the insured vehicle must be kept and secured in the locked garage between the hours of 2200 and 0700 when the insured vehicle is within a radius of HALF a MILE of the risk address "

i have never been asked to provide proof of the garage or anything related to that.
