Looks quite tidy from the photos but I'd be giving the sills a good prod. Interior looks clean.

Thanks Dude,Blitz wrote:Welcome to the E34 club.
1st addition was dealer tax disc holder and rear window sticker, plates to follow...
Started a little speculative claybaring, looks like the clear coat isn't too far gone so will buff fairly well,
Winter prep to commence shortly,

Coolio, i'll give you a tinkle closer to the time
After much swearing i managed to get the rear of the twin sunroof setup moving, lubricated and then and opening on the button properly, the front one seems a little dead though, raises but does not retract, lots of ugly sounds grinding of gears etc...
Do we know of a means of greasing the drive cables?

My uncle used to have a E34 525i SE (N Registration) from 2000 - 2008. It was literally WOW. Last-of-the-line model. Leather, ice-cold air-conditioning, power steering, electric windows, electric mirrors, metallic paint etc. Automatic with economy and sports mode. The interior dash was a different colour and everything was WOW WOW. Nothing fitted poorly. It looked quite alot better than the pictures posted of your new motor. Was good for 140mph plus (with its rechip too). I used to beg to get driven in that.

One of the great things about the '34 i'm learning is the relative cost of speccing them up,
Given how tidy the arches and body are i'm hoping a liberal application of waxoil will see this bus go on and on and on...
At least 400 miles covered totally issue free,
New drive belt purchased, no function indicated/lit up when operating not checked relays yet,
Is the idling aircon pump a function of the aircon control circuit? Wondering if the belt not being on the pump would affect power distribution?
Considering carring out an oil change tomorrow

Well the twin sunroof is now doing everything it should, quite cool to watch it park itself.
Still need to fit that belt to the aircon pump and see if the system will function,
Sport spec leathers added along with OBC Business C RDS sterio, oil/filter/plugs, happy days!
Pictures to follow

What are these turds like on juice?
I'm thinking of running one as a bit of a stop gap. I used to run a 525tds and no matter what I changed on the front end I could not get rid of the dreaded shimmy at 55/60 mph
Might be having a look at this in the week

Or this

Is a vanos rattle really that easy to fix????

Hi Scott,
No ideas re Vanos,
25-35 mpg depending on driving style though i still need to replace some engine service items in order to get the best out of it.
Considering lining up a m52 for a way down the line for some extra ponies as already have the m50 inlet and sump etc.
At least e34's are depreciation proof weighed against the options above

Good work!
Is the "P" registration one from Norwich as there was one for sale near me a couple of weeks ago? Very late registration for an E34. Looks a nice old thing. Montreal Blue?
