basically been trying to drop in an m20 block its stripped down so its just that and the gbox, but i cant seem to get it lined up,

the passenger mount arm lined up but the drivers mount arm seems out i jacked the gbox up in an attempt to line it but it seems off?

the mounts have spacers on the top for clearnace but doubt that would affect it? its 2-3cm to the left of the mount

is it because theres no weight i.e head tilting the engine?

I dont have a leveller either, i just used straps and a tow rope... and a seatbelt when i pulled it out,

any ideas, it started raining so i dropped the engine on the subframe... for the night 8O

Sounds to me like the engine has gone in at an angle, never had problems dropping an m20 in always gone smoothly.

You looked how the gearbox sits in the tunnel ?

You've not put the mounting arm on upside down, have you? You wouldn't be the first... :o:

i wasnt expecting any issues either! thought id be done in an hour little was i wrong,

i basically had a strap around the engine, and a tow rope off the gbox and it went in gbox down obv but it was at a dodgy angle,

gearbox sits pretty much centred but the starters hitting the bulhead a bit, im on my j's tomorrow as well so its gonna have to be a one man job, should i loosen the mounts and arms to give some movement so i can seat it and shimmy it around after?

nope i left the mounting arms attached when i removed it, just undid the rubber bush mounts, there either way right?

also does the mount pin sit in the long line or the small hole?
