It is a shame mate but if its worth more in parts then it would be broke, if someone wanted to buy it for a price that would almost match what I would get in frag then I would sell it on, with them in full knowledge of its condition, but no one will want to actually pay for it, and those that do will offer less that what I can get with it stripped. Im not willing to let it go for a loss on what I could earn, just like I wouldnt go handing out notes to strangers
Keep in mind though dude, im cleaning it up and looking after it, it will remain on the road for some time. When there is a chromie here, that will still need sorting and I wont be using it that often so this might even stay as a run around...
The 'Sport' name doesnt mean much to me other than people are willing to pay top dollar for parts because its Sport innit...

Most E30s that get broken are perfectly saveable, it just depends how willing the owner is to spend stupid money they will never see again and/or how skilled they are.polsta wrote:either way kedge/jim, a shame to just frag it if its not real bad and perfectly savable, even if it would ideally need a new lump in it
My mates dad restored a Mk3 3.0s Capri that was in a much worse state than most E30s that get broken and being an old Ford parts were much harder to find and much more costly than E30 stuff. The car also cost a fair bit more to buy in that state than a shagged out Sport. When the rarity of E30s gets to that level there might be people willing to buy the cars for a price decent enough to make it less rewarding to break one, that day is a long way off!
yeah see what your saying mate, just doesnt look too bad from the pics, shame to see them getting busted up really, maybe keep it on the road with a no spend basis, and have a bit of a patch up rat sport clinging on
but the old "sport" parts...yaawwwwn, come on, reasojn sport parts can command prices.is because they are sport parts, and not on other e30s, same as any other car make you could care to think of, if its unique to the sport models they fetch more, just the way it is, why shouldnt it be

You should know by now, what cen be seen easily is not even half of what is really lurking there. The pics really do make this car look better than it is.polsta wrote:yeah see what your saying mate, just doesnt look too bad from the pics, shame to see them getting busted up really, maybe keep it on the road with a no spend basis, and have a bit of a patch up rat sport clinging on![]()
Yawn indeed, if a part was optional on all other models it is not unique to the Sport!! Even the "unique" black headlining was fitted to other selectedpolsta wrote:but the old "sport" parts...yaawwwwn, come on, reasojn sport parts can command prices.is because they are sport parts, and not on other e30s, same as any other car make you could care to think of, if its unique to the sport models they fetch more, just the way it is, why shouldnt it be
UK models. Jim has proved it many times on eBay, standard part but put Sport in the title and it sells for a lot more!

While their are people out there that think this, I will continue to sell my parts as Sport parts at a higher premium than otherspolsta wrote: but the old "sport" parts...yaawwwwn, come on, reasojn sport parts can command prices.is because they are sport parts, and not on other e30s, same as any other car make you could care to think of, if its unique to the sport models they fetch more, just the way it is, why shouldnt it be

The sooner this Sport is swinging from a Hiab chain the better
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Even when they are fitted to every single E30 on the road??polsta wrote:i said "sport parts" which they are, order them for another e30 doesnt make them non sport parts does itKedge wrote:Oh right, I thought they could be order on all other E30s!? Funny how I don't seem to remember you having such delusional opinions until you owned one!

I dont mind festering rust, but we'll see how bad it is at some point soon.

Think the SE was facelift only.
Yes please bab! I'll talk to you later once I'm at work, will finally have to release details to you of where the car is hiddenJim320i wrote:Kedgington, are you still wanting my help tomorrow?
It's not in Coalville and it's on axle stands so good luckJim320i wrote:I'll be in coalville with the trailer waiting for the postcode
HLWW was an option from the start of E30 productionKedge wrote: I should have said some of the parts listed (thought I had). I've seen and owned 323i's with HLWWs, think the OBC only came on E30s once the 325i was released, but that was still before the sport. Still wouldn't be surprised if you could buy the other parts either, they may have been optional from the point they facelifted the prefacelift cars which was before the Sport was released, hence why there's that single Polaris Sport kicking around, was built before Sports were available to the public in a colour that was binned from the E30 range by the time sports were on sale, that's only a guesstimation.
Think the SE was facelift only.
I'm pretty sure 13 button OBC was available from the start as well.
The polaris Sport was indeed a full on 325i Sport and was built after the first sports were available.
The M technic 1 body kit came out with the release of the sport and was optional on other non 325i Sport E30's.
I checked RealOEM and the E30 specific parts were listed from '87 whereas other generic parts from the 5/6/7series were listed from '83.bss325i wrote: I'm pretty sure 13 button OBC was available from the start as well.
I thought on the original thread about it that car was built beforehand which was why we came to the assumption it was a demo car?bss325i wrote: The polaris Sport was indeed a full on 325i Sport and was built after the first sports were available.
