Epic, but I know which I'd rather be sitting in!
Traction appeared to be a teensy bit of an issue in the E30

Even after it breaks, I'd still own a Ferarri. Life long ambition right there! The other ambition is a red E30 M3 EVO Yumyume30den wrote:Yeah, until it self combusted.Sweety wrote:I think I'd take the Ferarri and live with the lack of power

I've no doubt that e30 has had 25k spent on the motor alone. Not only does it look like 150 pounds worth of scrap, it will be horrible to drive around town, and it will will be terrible on a track. I'm guessing that thing has around 900bhp? So life expectancy of the engine will probably be around 7k miles if built well. While the 458 will bring you from London to Germany to Monaco and back again without any issue.
I have seen a lot of GM stuff which would be just as fast as this but will not shit itself after 5 minutes.

You need to do research on m50 turbos then ;) bet a 500 whp beast could rinse one ! Lets say 5-6 k on conversion for proper reliable shizzle

A 500whp will not 'rince' a 458. It's called modern engineering which entails super fast double clutch boxes, gearing perfectly suited to power curves etc.
5-6k budget will probably only buy your parts alone for that number. Getting double the hp again isn't proportional to the cost.

Well i dont know stats on a 458 so your probably right ;) e30 is a light car tho compared to alot of tanks out there.
But i sure as heck know 5-6k can make an m50 run reliable on that power quite easy when set up right , ask a few here especially gunni ,he knoes his shizzle

Hmm. Exotic supercar or £250 of bridge fodder powered by some old E34 engine with a turbo strapped on.
That's a tough one. I'll get back to you.
However, the owner of a 458 is wealthy enough not to give a shit either way. He's got a Ferrari 458, and you haven't.

Not really. It will be a case of "my what a quick piece of landfill that is". Then a chuckle as they pass the e30 on the hard shoulder after it shits its guts out.magpie wrote:craigeeb's touring is going to kick some super cars arses, built in his back garden and over 450bhp !

Would take the Ferrari, sell, buy a house.
But then, if I could afford a Ferrari, I could have all of the above.

Ferrari's dont do a thing for me
Even if i did have the money i wouldnt want one (at least not one made after the 70's.
Sorry but in my view with all the onboard traction computers and the flappy paddle gear boxes What are you doing exactly over and above steering it?
A supercar killer for me would be something like a Monaro with a blower bottled on. LS rightness, a proper gearbox a car you have to drive. Yet you can use it everday and dont look a footballer or member of N dubz. Just my 2p.

Me neither - but a 458 or some home spun E30 with more power than it can handle?

That's funny. I saw a 675bhp impreza(probably had 20k plus spanked on the engine) actually give a slower 0-100mphyung-gun wrote:Not necessarily. i've seen scoobys out pacing Ferrari's and out cornering them. whats the point in paying over the odds for something shiny with a glorified sunroof. just like i'd take a uniquely converted E30 over an original sport any day!Andyboy wrote:If you're poor, yes.
h time than the less powerfull 458, and I would love to see a road legal one out corner the Ferrari.
People buy ferraris and other exotic motors because they want the best car for the money that they have.
