After having my tech 2 bumpers nicked last year ive decided to risk running them again.
I want to secure the valance a bit more but the question is can i still get the long Torx bolts in once the valance is fitted? ie can i fit and remove the front bumper while the valance is secured in place (i cant remember.
Thanks in advance.

It's been 2 yrs since I refitted my front valance, but I think the top of the valance partially covers the holes for the torx bolts. I think you can get at them, but they won't drop out - does that sound right??
I've not heard of the tech2 stuff being nicked, glad mine is locked away at the moment

I too cant remember if there's enough room for the torx bolts to slide in an out.

this sounds about right
lee if i remember right mate my socket was rubbin on the valence. so i had to remove the valence to undo the bumper to avoid damaging the valence
if that makes sense?

lol

Bugger.
Im already thinking of a plan B,
If someone tries it on again id rather them have a snapped in three valance than a nice minty one they have just easily popped off.
Oh yeah, the trunk.

no rush mate just hang on to it for me.

valance needs to come of first, and is fitted last. in terms of theft deterrant it is of little help as they can simply pull the top back as its only held on by the seven clips.
perhaps try filling the torx hole with glue or similar, it could be removed with a screwdriver and hammer so maybe will slow theives down an bit.

dont worry buddy its here in the box of spares lol
lee did you see how i secured my valence when you popped down last?
i used self tappers on the edge infront of the wheel.
okay it aint gonna stop a thief but it will slow em down or if they rip it off it aint gonna be of much value to them? lol

No i didnt notice...
Im thinking of fixing a couple of bolts to the plastic then bolting it to the valance from behind and do the same at the sides.

the valance is, or should be, boled to the car from underneath, and bolted to the wheel arch, see my wiki on fitting TECH 2 bumpers

I know Mrlee but i want a couple extra fixing points, if some lout decides to try and steal it again id rather them walk away with a snapped valance than a mint one.

What sort of thieving pikey coont steals bumpers off the car?
Centrecaps I can understand how an opportunist thief would have them away but a bumper ?
Bad luck lee - hope you find a way to secure it this time
