Hi, running a vgc 1989 320i convertible (auto)....alongside mint 325i Sport...but was wondering what subtle tweeks might be suitable, to improve ride, suspension, handling, etc. ??? Any clues - not extreme - but what mods would improve her ? She runs std BBS allows on F1 Eagles, 79k miles. Thanks.
i had an e34 520i an even though the standard set up was fine, around corners i felt it was lacking. i got some 30mm lowering springs from german swedish for Ԛ£70 and put them on in about 2 hours. the improvement in handling was good,(makes the car look better too) and its cheaper than sport shock absorbers etc...
Depends how deep your pockets are !!
Eccentric control arm bushes will make cornering and stability better (great mod for little outlay). As far as suspension set ups go there are many options to go for. Look back through other posts and you will get an idea of peoples opinions on them.
My 325 cab from 86 was in dire need of a revamp. When I replaced it all I found two of the shocks were completely dead. I opted for the H&R 60/40 cup kit from the zone shop along with powerflex eccentric bushes. Cannot express the difference in handling ... it's like going from a Reliant Robin to a Ferrari. My car used to "keel" over in corners but not anymore.

OK, good suggestions.....keeling round corners, yeh, bit of that. Sorry, but what are "Eccentric control arm bushes"....where do I get them, if I'm putting together a 'pack' of changes down-under ??

guys i also have a 320 cab but currently have a 325i lump in it.
i am planning to replace my suspension to get thru the MOT but i am a little unsure about something. With all this talk of 325i struts, will i need to aquire some as the are more heavyweight as i still have the standard 320 struts in. I am intending on buying the h&r 60/40 cup kit. So will i need to get anything additional or will the h & r setup include what i need? I know i will need some new bushes n mounts too while im at, so what would you suggest?
