The Z3 or E36 rack conversion will give 3.4 turns lock to lock. The E36 3.0ltr M3 has 3.2 turns and the Z3 is meant to be slightly quicker again, but I dont know how much - I dont think it will be less than 3.0 turns and it apparently has something to do with less steering travel (less lock) rather than a quicker ratio.
Ive heard of a manual (non-PAS) rack for RHD E30s that has around 2.5 turns lock to lock, but thought they were no longer made - someone on here has said they are still available, but I couldnt tell you where from.
AFAIK the only easy way to have a quicker PAS rack on an E30 is to do the E36 rack conversion.

I've got my hands on a Z3 rack and it's about 2.7-2.8 turns lock to lock and has 145mm of travel, which i think is the same as the E30 but have not had a chance to measure that one.
And then i have to figure out how to fit the cooling pipe.

There is NO nucleus.
