Nadz had his H&R Cup kit + H&R ARB's fitted yesterday courtesy of Ant.
Took out for a drive to see what I thought.
Ive driven lots of cars with the Cup kit fitted so I know what that drives like.
Its amazing how much difference a few millimetres makes on some Arbs.
I drivwe the car on roads I know. It was as though as was going round those bends with much less drama. There is considerably less roll and you can really take car round bends at really silly speeds.
It is quite a dramatic change to what is already a brilliant suspension setup.
Unfortunately I cannot fit to my touring right now as I think the engine may be on its way out and this would be pointless.

My anti roll bar bushes are stuffed and I was thinking about getting some new anti roll bars at the same time as the bushes, at the moment I have whatever was standard on my 323i JPS. They are front and rear but I have no idea what size (they look quite small).
Anyway my 323i already handles very well, it has mid corner speed similar to my fathers Evo (which according to magazine tests has similar mid-corner speed to the latest Boxster S) and a modified Integra Type R (latest shape with coilovers, track tyres, strut braces and who knows what else). I think I miss out on a bit of front end grip on turn in but mid corner is very similar and coming out I sometimes start to catch up but then I loose out big time on power. That is just with 1" lower King springs (average Australian brand), Koni adjustable sports dampers, and good tyres. It isn't that stiff (not like the Evo) and it does get some body roll (but not a huge amount, similar to or maybe slightly less than the Evo) so I am wondering what it would be like if these ARBs are so much better, and then combined with the Cup kit which everyone rates so highly it would have to out handle nearly everything on the road. Is that how good this setup really is?
Oh and the last time I raced against that Integra my rear sub frame bushes were completely worn out, I had a look and the trailing arms have been hitting on (and denting) the body because the subframe moves so much
. I am hoping to have even better handling when I get it back from having the new bushes fitted.
If it really is that good I will definately be looking to buy those ARB's and maybe even the Cup kit in the future. It is mostly the ride height I am worried about with that, I already scrape on everything with just the 25mm lower springs and I take it easy over all the bumps in car parks and driveways and stuff.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I have adjustable camber plates front and trailing arm bushes rear and M3 offset polyurethane front control arm bushes. I think that is all suspension wise.

once again sal and ant THE e30 heroes..
ant's amazing work and sal's amazing products (coffe and twiglets to
),
the cup kit and hr roll bars is amazing, awesome, the dogs bollox!!
after having standard sport/mtech shock and springs and installing these babies the driving experience is worlds apart!
the car is more reponsive, stearing inputs with the ecentric poly bushes (wow, recommend) just point and go and most of all i felt the car has more confidence (well me) of cornering, ride is a bit harsh but nothing to bad (using polly bushes in the rear). the car just grips, grips and grips more... did i mentions grips? it really is that good kit both cup kit and rolls bars, this is one mod that all e30 owners should consider, worth every penny, especially at sals prices.
only thing missing to make the driving experince that one step better is a nice momo stearing wheel with the 1.9/2.8 short shift, curtosey of drving sals touring, the momo is a fantastic stearing wheels, gonna start saving sal...
oh yeh ant beast, lovelyy, a very nice clean car, inside and out, oh yeh the turbo
fasssstttttttttt......
thank you both for a good cold day, good products and most importantly good results. see ya soon.
p.s. ASTON - 1500% recommend both kit, talk to sal he will advise you more, perfection piece of kit.

Which bushes? Trailing arms? Sub frame? ARB? Other? All?nadz325i wrote:(using polly bushes in the rear)
Well it definately sounds very good and I believe what you all are saying. Like I said, being that much better than what I have it would have to out handle nearly everything (including quite a few sports cars) which must be nicep.s. I would be trying to fit these myself if possible. Is it a very difficult job? My father has a floor jack thing, some stands and a few tools.

powerflex subframe, trailing, the arm bushes come with slightly? stiffer than stock with the hr ARB , so all are uprated/new in the back.astondg wrote:Which bushes? Trailing arms? Sub frame? ARB? Other? All?nadz325i wrote:(using polly bushes in the rear)

i got that feeling to, out handle all cars
the subframe bushes/trailng bushes its a long job, but once done worth it, but with poly subfram beware the ride will stiffen up good and proper,

I have polyurethane trailing arm bushes (adjustable for camber) and if I get the ARB's I will get polyurethane bushes for them too. I am currently getting the subframe bushes replaced but just with original ones at the moment because I wasn't sure how much extra vibration and stuff the polyurethane ones would transmit into the body. I use this car for a bit of racing and as my road car so I wasn't really sure what would be best. So they aren't too bad on the road? I already have a motosport diff that chatters a little and other polyurethane bushes so if it was only a little bit worse I probably wouldn't notice but I don't want it a lot worse. And the ride is stiffer as well?

Sal, how does Nadz's setup compare to mine with the Eibach ARB's?
I imagine the H&R ones are a fraction better????

ride is definetley stiffer, i dont think its filling shattering as some people say, i like it, even when i had the standard suspension with poweflex in about 7- 8 months ago, i wasnt complaining.astondg wrote: So they aren't too bad on the road? And the ride is stiffer as well?
Aston
powwwefffffflex give a racy, sporty feel.
mason sorry dude no pics of before and after, if you worried about 60mm front, bumbs, no problem fine so far, my street has a road full of them and around, over them fine, just go nice a slow.

Your car rides so so well and its imposible to comapre to Nadz car with all that poly bush under it.E30Adam wrote:Sal, how does Nadz's setup compare to mine with the Eibach ARB's?

As for handling there is defo a bit less roll but not a big massive difference. it feels more neutral with the H&R ARB's.

Karan,
its got exactly the same feel as Nadz's car. Didnt go round bends as fast as you did simply because there are NO bends here to go round fast like that.
