Isit an M52b28???

See this being advertised as an m52 2.8 , now te only ones ive seen have a black rocker cover this hasnt , also apears to have a m50 oil filter housing but m52 manifolds , so my guess is its not?? And a m50b23 vanos ??? Or where they also made like this ?

Ahhh i see , the lad just messages me has said its also nikasil , my thoughts are if its still running it'll surely be fine due to less sulphur nowadays? ,apparently it was put in an e36 by bmw in 2009 :/

It was an upgrade, the car i pulled it from was a registered 2.0.

Supply and fit by bmw, i did have all the full paper work on this,
but unfortunately when i moved into a new workshop i think it was
thought of as rubbish by someone and thrown away.

Now im thinking why would bmw supply a second hand engine that was more than likely recalled if it was in their possession ,surely they couldnt have supplied warranty ect i think the lads having an imperial leather bubble bath ! :/

But he wants 200£ for what is in pic plus loom , no ecu no ews ect :/ offer him 100 n be done ?

Its bull, BMW wouldnt do an engine conversion! Maybe an independant BMW specialists, either way, £200 for a complete running engine minus ECU is a bargain

That was my thoughts most likely a "specialist" So its worth it even tho its nikasil and old ??

I'd be wanting to do a compression test on it first before paying more than £100 or so.

Hmmm the thing is the engine is out of the car with no box or starter ready to go so im told :/ , and as far as my knowledge tells me you cant just crank it over with a ratchet .
