Yep subtle period modifications work. I think some call it OE+

My definition would be

No rust whatsoever
All original paintwork
No welding
Straight chassis
FBMWSH and all their respective invoices
All the MOTs
All the Road Tax Discs
Original Sales Invoice
Totally Standard Condition

In today's day and age EXTREMELY unlikely

DEFINITIONS:

Bruvved = every bolt-on bullsh!t extra from the Halfords bargain bin.
Council = extra chrome, modern wheels, LEDs
Scrap = More brown than the Cadbury's factory
Turd = the affectionate term for all E30s on the Zone. All E30s are turds
Stance w4nker = Anyone who starts a thread about smashing their sump
Scene c#nt = anyone who uses the words stance, poke, hellaflash, stickers, JDM or Eurostyle without sarcasm.

Manual Gearbox
LSD
Had a good BMW Inspection II Service
Passes MOT
Makes a bloody good sound
Nice stereo system (optional)
No rust or all the rust sorted
Straight chassis

44k Miles 1 owner from new

Owned by a Doctor before i bought it who had it from new, Been serviced by a bmw specialist in london and various work done at main dealers, Perfect comfort leather seats, rears have never been sat in and i dont think anything has ever been in boot.

The recipts have mind boggling prices on them, All Parts have been fitted by a bmw specialist but with main dealer parts backed up with recipts.

Here is where it spent most of its life

Image

Sadly the chap who owned it before me has passed away as i tried to get in contact with him :(

Rust wise there is non at all, its absolutly mint, front jacking pads, inner and outer arches, inner front wings, everything.

However the bad side is i picked it up like this

Image

However its all back to original now with fresh paint

Love it .... That is a proper little cracker there .... Even if it is a 318i Automatic :-)

Surprised the doctor went for a 318i .... But good on him for doing it a lot of credit.

The 3 Series E30 Touring is such a good looking thing with all the proper BMW attributes .... And yours is a L Reg !!!! :-)

From Cheyne too

Look after it :-)

erm whats makes a good E30............

Well any E30 that hasnt been "touched" by any stance/drift/scene/council types, fullstop.

Example, lets take a 20 year old untouched original turd, drop it on its arse, on chopped springs, weld the diff, paint the wheels a s*it colour, strip the paint and fit a morris minor sunroof and attach some crappy bmx and their grandmothers best suitcase to it.

These types just follow what some other moron thought would be cool and then fail fantastically

A good E30 is one with a hydraulic headlamp height adjustment system that works... No?? yours doesn't work neither???

You cant polish a turd, but you can try!!

Haters will always hate, if your car looks better then theirs or different to theirs people will always hate on it.. The nail that sticks out, gets hammered

So do what you want to do to your car its not like its worth much! slam it, jack it up, put drug dealer wheels on it OR if you feel proper groovy fit a bmw number plate surround and some bmw dust caps and then take some snaps of it because your a pic whore
