yeah the bodywork is good condition.. but you were still a shit seller. sold it with virtually no petrol in it and a hole in the tank and ****** off as quick as possible knowing i was going in the petrol station next door to fill it up. then didnt answer your phone. its been a good car at times. but the engine has never really been 100% it was cutting out a lot from when i bought it.
engine was 100% when i sold car never cut out once in 3year i had car never missed a beat, was a good car when i sold it obviously went downhill since then by the sounds of things i got rid of it at right time

Pictures of the rust have been documented and are ready to transfer from the camera. Currently decorating the house though so the pc isn't accessible and I can plug the camera up to the iPad

As for the previous owners thinking the bodywork is good, oh dear! I hope wasn't an expensive strip and repaint as there are some right bodges in there.

Ok...

Interior, modded doorcards, which will be going back to the black vinyl when I get time to start diicking about with the car

Seats are in fairly good order, need to strip them down and tighten everything up. Passenger side bolster is worn so will need to get a replacement

Image

Scabs...

Driver door sill
Image

Passenger door

Image

Passenger inner rear arch, had some patching done in the past

Image

Unfortunately all the rust wasnt chopped out

Image

Driver side, same story...

Image

Image

Under the fuse box has been welded, but underneath still has some rust, wont know the full condition until I remove the wing

Image

Scuttles

Image

Image

Battery tray, the raise part under the bonnet guide has a soft point which will be a hole

Image

Bonnet strut mount

Image

Front

Image

The boot also has some scabby bits, the worst being the part where the breather/overflow for the fuel tank runs, that has some very suspect rust which will need patching. Under where the number plate lights are too so need to remove the number plate surround. Didnt get pictures though as couldnt be arsed to remove the boot lining again, but will do when I get time

The front springs

This is how they both sit, fully compressed...

Image

There is no play in them at all, you can jump on the car and it does not move 8O

Luke said it handled well, I have to disagree, without even doing a road test

Anyway... Compaired to the majority of the turds on here, i'd say it was pretty standard in condition. The majority also never show the rusty pictures

How would the springs have ended up completely compressed like that? :?

I had an F-reg 1989 Tech 2, which looked superficially fine, but had huge holes in the outer sills under the door A-posts (hidden beneath the kit, of course), holes in both front floorpans, rotten front wing bottoms (also hidden behind the kit) and even holes behind the rear numberplate!

You can quite easily check the sills by just removing the side skirt lower clips (they just slide off), and prising the skirts open a couple of inches to get a torch in there for a look-see.

They are not E30 springs, thats why.

Only a few pics there Jim, im sure there are plenty of more hidden nasties, once the boot trim is removed you might decide to break it 8O

8O Be good to get them off the car to see what they actually are. I have some 'M tech' set up front struts and rear springs which I could throw on it but purchased some Eibachs so will wait for them and put them on I think. Might also change the front struts altogether for some others just to be safe.

As for the pictures, only grabbed a few of the scabby bits ive found. The boot trim has been fully removed already so the bits I mentioned are the rusties, ill get pictures of course :D

The side skirts will come off too at just to see how bad.

Wont be fragging it just yet though fellas... No point to be honest as I have no E30 to play around with at the moment so may as well try and save it for a little longer.

Jim just do the struts, drop the chromie 325 donk in and drive it :)

You're never gonna do a full paedo resto on this one so what you can't see won't hurt you and then when that future MOT does come where we need to plant some more trees for the fail sheet just frag it and get your money back :D

 I was starting to wonder if I was missing something with all these comments of 'frag it'.
You got it though rob  May as well get it sorted and join the diffing crew. Its not going to cost me a fortune to sort and what I do spend on parts, I can later sell them for a profit too.

Funny how much pictures don't show up. The way that bubble on the scuttle has lifted makes me think its full of filler. You got any pics of the peeling paint from the quality masking around the door shuts or that show the colour difference on the A-pillars (very dull old paint vs new shiny paint)?
