Can anyone tell me how to remove/replace this piece of trim from my touring? I'm guessing it's a pig of a job. Click picture for bigger image.

It is a 'push' fit onto the welded seam between the roof and side of the shell.

I have fitted two to my touring, the first fell off on the A1 heading to my first meet with the touring...the second had added seam sealer to help it stay fixed...it's still there, four years later.

To remove, lever, carefully, from it's lower edge and slide forward to enable you to lift it off the A pillar.

I've only swapped the bit that runs the length of the roof, from A pillar backwards,I have a sneaky feeling that the bit you are refering to is bonded to the load area window....

Aaaah... not a threadjack, but how to remove item 7 in Cloggy's pic. I have a rusty stain appearing from behind that trim and need to carefully remove it.
TIA

Can you not pull off the plastic gutter trim to get a better look?

From memory, its some very careful prying. Starting from 5, then 6 as im sure it stops it from coming forward, then number 2, that one, pryed upwards, but be carefull as when I did this, I managed to remove one side fine, the other side lifted the clip too much and the back window shattered

2# can be removed it's held on with re-useable plastic clips, IIRC it is removed by prising it upwards,

#2 has two solid metal locators (one at each end), and five plastic clips just to hold it flush to the window. These clips look like a letter E resting on its back; the trim just drops into it. It's the two end pieces that stop it coming off the car.

If you gently prise the two ends upwards, the trim will just pop off.

To be honest, for my respray I only removed 2, 3 and 7. I couldn't get any of the others off, and the Trim Removal article in the Wiki doesn't cover them either. I have a funny feeling they're bonded on.

That's a pain, I managed to put a couple of small dents in mine and I really want to replace it.
