Hi, have been a member on hear for a few months now so thought its time i few up a few pics of my car and told the story,

car is a 325i sport that i bought a year ago but shell was a little bent unfortunately, so i bought a decent low milage 320i and swoped everything over, literally everything, every wire, clip, plug nut and bolt, shortly after that i fancied a challenge so decided on building a 2.7 for it.
i managed to get hold of a complete 70k 525e auto engine for £150, and kept my original 325i sport head, the head had 2.7 stamped on it, not really sure what that means.

then set about with the build, all in all it took me about 2 days to do the conversion, but i did have access to a ramp, engine crane, engine stand and air tools etc.

get a slightly thicker head gasket from bmw, with all valve stem seals, and new sump gasket and spigot bearing etc,
conversion was done for about 2 weeks then woke up to find it had been stolen from outside the house one, from the cctv footage they pulled the rear light out disconected the battery, then used some sort of bar down the side of the window to get in and rolled the car down the street, from there we dont no if it was started, towed or loaded onto a trailer,

fortunatly only yesterday almost 4 months later i had a phonecall from the police saying they had found my car.

apparently guy who has it now had bought it and applied for the logbook, and thats how they found it,
upside is i get to pick it up on tuesday, downside is its looking a little worse for wear, theres a scrape down the side on the tech2 kit, the front bumper is scratched and burnt, some1 has welded the tow eye in hence the burn, and its very faded now,but hay hoe at least i got it back,
the picks below are just after the conversion, but tuesday when its back i will get up some picks of its current state :-(,
ps, sorry if pics are abit big

Glad you're getting it back. How far from you was it found? The other end of the country??

Did they fit a new lockset etc?? Must have if they sold it on. Can't see the new buyer being impressed having to Hotwire it every day!!

Hopefully you get it to its former glory soon!!

Blimey you're lucky!! Bit of paint and a bumper!! Extremely lucky to have not been fragged or used in a robbery (bit too obvious for that though) or just burnt out for fun!!

right, made a little bit of progress today and got the car running and some pics of the damaged areas,

car was full of crap and needed a good clean and my leathers have bin removed out the car and replaced with some f*cked cloths, and it wouldnt start,

opened the bonnet and the bottom pulley and trigger wheel were hanging off, so bolted that all back up in the correct position and fired her up,
started and ran but with a miss fire, changed plugs and checked leads, rotor and cap and they where fine, but still a missfire, so did a compression check and that came back all good, so next thing is injectors unless anyone else has any ideas,

so this is the car as it stands at the minute after a wash:

Glad you got it back- at least they didn't break it for parts (except the leathers).
Did the insurance pay out on it already? Hopefully it'll cover the costs of getting it fixed up.

unfortunately i had a trade policy at the time and if i claimed it would have almost trippled my insurance and i really couldnt afford it at the time as i had only just started up and i had an insane excess to pay aswell so i decided not to claim.

in regards to the engine, i bought a new coolant level sensor, temp sensor, oil level sensor, inlet to afm pipe, and some injector cleaner, replaced all the sensors that where playing up then dropped 2 bottles of injector cleaner in and £20 of fuel and drive it round for an hour and the missfire has now gone,

i took the exhaust off yesterday as a bracket had broke and was casuing the exhaust to sit low, so ordered 2 new brackets from sytners and rubber mounts ready for monday.

its getting there but im on a very very tight budget at the min works been very slow and having to rely on some saved funds to get me by at the min, to bit by bit it will get done,

oh also have it a good polish today with some sonax red polish and its has restored my faith in the car a lot, and managed to source some e34 sport heated electric leathers in immaculate condition for £60 but not sure with them yet s £60 could go to oil n filters etc and poss a cam belt

right, quick update for you,

had a few hours the other day polishing it, hoovered the interior out, refitted the exhaust and took my heather motor out as it was seized.

so hears a few pics of it after a good clean and polish.

headlight missing as bulb holder broke off, in search for new 1
Image

exhaust sits a little odd on new brackets.
