RUST ! help please

hi ive started stripping down the e30 coupe all thats left now is the shell , i pulled the carpet up to find a huge rust patch in drivers foot well i tapped it with a hammer and more and more was falling through to the concreate :S i was just wondering how far can you cut out or is there a point to just scrap and start again ? i really dont want to scrap because im also learning as im going but is there any thread out there that are simalar to my problems also when i removed the wing the inner wing had been bodged up and wondered if there was threads on this too. i will start to up load pics soon as, as im new to all this cheers shane

Hey Shane,
Yeah as you've found rust is an e30's biggest problem. It must be cut out and plated with new steel. You need to have a look at some of the restoration threads on here,

Grrrmachine has a really good one on his e30 touring, he cut and welded a lot.!
