How many Hartges on the Zone
Moderator: martauto
Jimbob made an interesting point on another posting which has led me to start this topic.
How many genuine properly converted or manufactured Hartges do we have on the Zone ??? Not E30s with Hartge lumps in them but genuine H23 - 26 - 27 27SP and 35s etc ????

Any idea why they are not members?HartgeH27 wrote: I personally know of two Tourers and three more H26s BUT how many are Zone members cars ?
I think

One of the H26s is now down in Southern Ireland/Eire, another is down in Cornwall. The tourers one is a member but the other I do not know its location at all, Big E has the H35 and an H26. There is another H35 around but last I saw of it was being advertised in TBMW a few years ago and it looked a little sorry.
The daddy of them all the H35S lurks somewhere and I would love to see and ride in that.

But back to the point, come on guys are any more of you on the Zone.

C76jon went to view this car before buying his 31k evo II, he wasn't impressed with the car at all, it seemed messed with, it's not the done thing to a car that they only ever made 6 of! Oh and it was called Hetty!!pacerpete wrote:That is what you call a mark up .. Martin Pearse (MCP) bought that car off the previous owner (Wendy Lynam ) for Ԛ£11000 a few months ago !

20+ grand!
Damn, you could make one brand new for that with the later 3.8 M5 engine in it (brand new engine aswell).

Just out of curiosity, would Birds still do a full conversion on an e30, and would it then be classed as a 'genuine' Hartge? Assuming you had the funds, obviously

In an emergency, 325 is the quickest way to go.......

The plain and simple answer is NO !!325iSportMark wrote:Just out of curiosity, would Birds still do a full conversion on an e30, and would it then be classed as a 'genuine' Hartge? Assuming you had the funds, obviously
I have spoken to Birds on various occasions and had to get a 'theoretical rebuild cost' for insurance purposes for my agreed valuation of Ԛ£15k.
Kevin Bird has stated that the parts are not available to rebuild a full H27 in either Saloon or Cabrio form. An H26 is still feasible as this is mainly head/breathing/suspension conversion.
If you scoured around, mainly in Europe you might find all the bits and it would be an interesting project.
Again for insurance purposes, Kevin quoted Ԛ£10k for a full H27 conversion (if the parts were available).
Pricey or what ???? LOL

of those 6 that were built, how many are ACTUALLY still alive? I bet at least one has been parked backwards into a wall or off a cliff somewhere!

I have a genuine H27 which was fully restored 18 months ago by Gary Perfect, ex Hartge Engineer for Birds. It has done 11k miles since and I am in the process of selling, or at least considering it.
Good question, there is no real guideline, much rarer than Alpinas but of similar specification. Really its down to how much someone wants to pay. A fully sorted H27 should fetch top money, more than a sport and perhaps M3 money.usman wrote:how much are these cars actually worth? and mgarret29, if you were to sell yours how much would it be?
I have a red M3 with M88 engine built by Hartge.Built in late 1987.
When i asked Herrn Vogel at Hartge he said that they only made cars with
the m88 3,5l engine. It is strange that the white car has the 3,6l engine.

Yeah a change of username. Can hardly call myself Geoff's H26 when i dont own it!!! Its still down in Cork as far as i know, i actually text him the other day to see if he still had it and if so fancied selling it back to me, but thus far no reply!
Oh well at the time it was a good move to sell it - CASH IS KING as they say.
If there is anyone from TBMW on here, i was wondering if i could get a copy of the images taken??
Its going to be only a matter of time before im back in an E30, and im looking forward to it! Have a good day zoners!
