I'm converting my car to front coilovers and was wondering how I work out what lb springs I will need. As my car has the m30 in, do I need to work out how much extra weight I have over an m20 engine and then get in contact with someone like Merlin and see what they suggest, or has someone got an idea of what rating springs I should try to start with? What other info would be required to work out the rating?

Sorry if this has been covered before, I have searched but couldn't find anything relevant

Speak to Andy at Faulkener springs, decent chap and should be able to point you in the right direction if you give him an idea of what you are after. Don't have the number handy but they are on the net, based near Chichester.
For sale - E30 320i racer project - sold.
