I had planned on buying the heated seat elements and wiring new.

According to the oem catolog the switches and wiring for models before the 09/1986 are NLA.

My car was first registered 08/1986.

Will the later switches and wiring be uncompatible for my car.
Just wondering due to different part number?

The Internet - It has proven to be worthless, and is nothing but a repository for perverts.

Yea I suspect there are the mostly the same. I know that car companies will release a variant of an existing part that surpasses its previous version in some way.

Hopefully everything will work out.

It would be a real shame to start hacking at new wiring
