i might book a track day to get to know my car a little better though
my lucky escape
Moderator: martauto
driving to work early this morning the roads were a little wet but nothing major and as i,m coming around a roundabout at about 25mph the back end starts to slide out a big grin crept across my face and i couldn,t resist gave it a little more right foot and i,m there completly sideways and holding it.......until the back grips and kicks back the other way i end up sliding out of control and bumping up the kerb
sat there for a couple of seconds totally gutted as i thought i,d done my wheel/suspension in pulled down the road and got out to check the damage luckily nothing wrong, the kerb i hit was angled rather than square and i hit it diagonally so i must have just rolled up it but i've learned my lesson it may only be a 320 but i love my e30 and would have been so pissed if i f*#cked it up so i'm gonna leave the drifting to those who know what they're doing.

I noticed that with my old 320i, it seemed to be easier to get the back end to step out than my on 325i (Using the throttle).

The joys of an open diff! Get yourself an LSD on there and you'll be holding that slide all the way through.e30-320i wrote:i,m there completly sideways and holding it.......until the back grips and kicks back the other way i end up sliding out of control and bumping up the kerb![]()

close call there...glad the car escaped with no injuries and yourself as well.
and yeh...get and LSD, and you'll have that grin going all the way around that roudabout.

Drive slower! I wrote off my old 320i touring after losing the back, catching it , deliberately not over correcting aiming for a field but the front dug in a span me round.e30-320i wrote:it could have been alot worse a mate of mine went off the same roundabout in his old 325i and ended up in a ditch.i'm a bit worried now though as it wont be long before it snows here i managed to lose it on a wet roundabout dunno what will happen on ice
