anyone tell me how hard it is and what it involves removing the nessesary wiring for the obc and about how much the obc plus wiring is worth
worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but it never really gets you anywhere

theres no removing of wires needed; unless you want to remove the indicator stalk.
although some of the functions are somewhat tempromental, i think its worth it. it looks much nicer in the dash and i like the dong feature with the temperature especially.
u wouldnt say its hard to fit its just fiddly the only tools you need arescrew drivers and petience
theres a write up in the tech articles

Jordano, I'm assuming from your post you've seen an OBC in a car that you'd like to remove? If so, then it's quite fiddly, but if you're taking it out of a scrapper, then it's not so fiddly, just rip the thing out!
You will need to remove the unit and the wiring loom that's attatched to it, and pref the loom that runs down the inner wing to the temp sensor that's located in the N/S brake duct, try and get the indicator stalk too.

If you want to sell it for top money, which is normally about Ԛ£100 on e-bay, you need to remove as much as possible, the indicator stalk has the remote control on the end enabling you to cycle through the functions.

If you want to sell it as a complete kit you do! Just lazyness when people can't be bothered removing it, it's so easy!318-is wrote:you dont have to have the stalk though but its a nice feature and easy to fit/remove

i'm glad i've just stumbled across this thread, the backlight on my obc failed the other day, i can just make out the LCD display so i know it still works.
Does anyone know, is it likely it can be fixed or will i have to replace the unit?
Thanks, Bob

at the top on the right hand side theres a white bulb holder.
pull it out with needle noses and replace the tiny bulbs in there, about 30p?
job done you can even remove them with the OBC in i did!

The light bar can be replaced, or new bulbs/LEDs fitted.Bob7 wrote:i'm glad i've just stumbled across this thread, the backlight on my obc failed the other day, i can just make out the LCD display so i know it still works.
