So I've removed my interior this weekend so
Seats
Carpet
Roof liner
All plastics
Glove box
Centre console
Litterally everything but the dash
A hefty amount of wiring from a toad alarm

So my first question is how much does all that interior weight roughly?
And has anyone completely removed the sun roof? How much did this weight?

Thanks
Dave

i have removed the sunroof on mine must be 25kg with everything at least.
i would also remove the sound deadening as well best way is use a hot air gun peels of easy then theres a lot of weight in that as well.
I have also removed the back rest and a lot of the parcel shelf as well another 25kg there but would sugest a rear strut brace if doing that

A sunroof panel comes in at 5.2kg, the difference between a sunroof and non sunroof shell is 5kg, thats not including the pipes or motor/rails/windings, which at a push might come in at say 2kg.

Thats no where near 25kg!

Electric motor is 800grams, rails are 200 grams and the cable mechanism plate is only 500grams = 1.7kg.

I know it's an old thread but I thought I'll post my feedback in case anyway was to come across it (like me).
I've recently removed the interior parts from my 318i and I put each one on a scale so here it goes:
rear seat: 13.5kg
rear shelf: 2.8kg
rear seat belts: 2.6kg
spare wheel: 15.9kg
central console (the part around the handbrake): 0.3kg
rear quater trims: 2.8kg
boot lining: 5.3kg
floor mats: 3kg
those plastic covers on A.B,C poles: 0.2kg
hand grips and speaker covers: 0.8kg
floor carpet: 8.7kg
front speakers: 0.6kg
roof lining: 2kg
front seats drivers:17.7kg
front seat passangers: 17.4kg

sunroof: 14.7kg

total: 111.7kg

I've also removed the glovebox and other bits and pieces but forgot to wieght them.

Sound and heat proofing yes. I've removed most of it and so far I've got 8.6kg out of it. That's all from under the rear seats, including the inside of right quater panel (right didn't have any) and from under the front seats. All that's left is the two footwells but it will go soon.

BTW.. I had to replace the two drain plugs from where the fronts seats are and the proofing was as they have rusted through. Very cheap part from the dealer. About £5.

The front doors also have sound deadening in them.
