Front shocks.. do 45mm and 50mm use the same?

I would imagine that the internal shock themselves are different in size too but could somebody confirm this..

Specific to strut size, as far as I know the 6 pots and the 318is use the 51mm and the four pots have the smaller 45mm ones.
