Car hunts on idle and if i lightly hit the accelerator there is a slight delay before the car revs a bit.
Gave it a full service - all filters, oil, plugs etc. No problem through revs, drives lovely.
What could it be?
Slight hunting on idle and sputtering not fixed by service

Try cleaning the idle control valve and throttle body thoroughly with carb cleaner
Also could be an air leak - check all the intake pipes for splits - air leaks can be a PITA to find

Misfire on idle, running rough and strong smell of petrol. Nothing wrong when i put my foot down though, pulls hard.
The rear section of exhaust seems to be s steel, dont know if this is causing problems

No mate exhaust wouldn't cause the issue. Its as said above. I had exactly the same and it was an air leak.beautymeanswheels wrote:Misfire on idle, running rough and strong smell of petrol. Nothing wrong when i put my foot down though, pulls hard.

So my sport has this exact same issue

Cleaned carb and pipes around there, cleaned idle control valve sensor and now it seems to be running alright!
