Dealer only, I know meatballs82 can get it but that's through the dealer so you still have the wait... Which is usually 2-3 days... Which gives you time to remove the old glue

There's loads of other offers out there though for various types of insulating foam, of various thicknesses and textures, with or without aluminium foil. Has anyone tried any of these?

All the same afaik, there is a different style all together which isn't a sticky foam version but they are fitted to m3's and 325es's

Polsta, that number is showing up as the soundproofing under the back seat, not as bonnet insulation.

And Jim, I've got one of those solid insulation panels coming next week, so I'll be able to confirm whether it fits six-pot engines.

Polsta, that part number is the iS-specific sound insulation, which has a different texture to the other foams (Sanchez's part number) if I remember correctly.

The solid panel that Jim and I are talking about is NLA, and you very rarely see it in the UK as it was only fitted to the M3, 325e and the diesels, and each model had its own specific panel:

ok, as above see thats whats i mentioned when someone said there were 2 types, the is textured (bit egg box like) i had in my is, felt a bit more durable than the other- when the smooth finish one is new, is it soft and not prone to anything easily pushing it in and leaving an imprint ?

It gets brittle with age, when new it's soft and spongy and will retain it's shape if anything is pushed into it.

Use the correct one for the model of E30 you have.

Toyota brake cleaner is the most effeftive substance I have found to remove the old adhesive.

See my build thread for pics.

They all deteriorate the same as each other over 15-20 years.

Buy the one specific for the 325i, I doubt BMW did that square cutout for no reason
