Near my brother's bodyshop, there's this 850i that's been left for months now (it used to belong to his accountant).
It was parked up, and the owner has had several offers to buy it but he wants silly money for it, so it just lies idle and steadily accrues more dents and vandalism (note the busted door mirror):
The candy apple red metallic paint has also badly faded on top.

There are so many cars that can't get bought cheaply enough due to the owners being deluded over their worth...As a result they just sit and rot for years making the area look bad.
It really annoys me!

Those rims would look nice on e30 if a turd has a 5 lug setup! I remember my dads mate had one. 850 i think it was, pulled like a train honestly has some power, delivery is smooth. too bad about the depreciation...

True. But once you've witnessed Peter's compendium of turds you'll understand....

That's the odd thing; next to my bro's bodyshop is a scrap metal yard, and lots of pikeys are attracted to the vicinity, and there are lots of Romanian/Polish farm workers living nearby, yet it remains reasonably untouched.
One of the farm workers got drunk and attacked a Dodge Ram parked next to it, punching a huge dent in a panel. It was captured on CCTV, the culprit was apprehended and had to fork out for the damage, which my brother had to fix.

They like a beemer. We had a farm near where we used to live and it was like watching a tramp drift procession every evening.

That's the wheels I wanted for mine, but could never find a set when I was looking.

Yes, there are plenty of Polish bods locally with them, mostly E36s.
I spoke to one with an E30 320i, and he said he didn't bother to use anti-freeze in his coolant. The car ended up being scrapped shortly afterwards, then he was seen ragging an E36 about.

I guess it doesn't matter to them especially if they're seasonal workers. it's a car for the summertime. why buy antifreeze when you can buy aftershock!

this happens a lot to these old 8's there are at least 4 that i know of just rusting away on peoples driveways
In fairness you can slightly understand people wanting silly money as in 15-20 years time these will most likely fetch good money, having said that that don't mean they are worth a substantial amount today

Just like the old 6 Series when M635CSi were about 10k for good ones.
A lot of neglected 635CSi a were sub 5k.
Those that survived this dark age and are in great condition are worth a bit now.
A great M635CSi is in my top 10 dream BMW garage for sure. I have listed after one since about 2001 ....
So much class, charisma, presence, elegance, pace, good specification (albeit top specification in the 1980s), pace about the same as a BMW 330Ci Coupe which I mean E46. The only main downside is expensive to maintain, poor fuel economy, rare which is good if u have one but means hard to find one, very few concours ones that were well maintained throughout their history.
Some I read only recently been restored as owners have wisest up to their rising values well I read that somewhere

The difference between the 6 Series and the 8 is that far more 8's have survived. Unlike the 6, they have never been a scrapyard rust bucket. It's probably the last really stunning looking BMW. Folk won't give a 2000's era 6 a second glance but the 8 has always been a head turner. I bought a 5 year old 840ci back in 2002 and it was a magnificent machine really.

Yeah they do look the business but I think a M3 CSL looks the business too and a E39 M5 in Le Mans Blue

Shame as the 8 Series is a lovely looking car. Potential money haemorrhage though.
Had a look around Dips' one at Gaydon a number of years back and was surprised how little interior space it had!
Iirc, the 840Ci is the model to go for (apart from the 850CSi of course).
