Ho guys I've got a 320se that has had a2.5 m20 fitted in the past. I have got hold of a 328 e36 which I intend to transplant in the next few months. The other day the e30s diff died so I'm looking for a replacement but I need one that will suit the m52b28 engine. The gearboxes I have at my disposal are e30 1.8is and 325. Or the 2.8 that came with the e36.
The LSD ratios I have been offered are 3.64 3.73 3.91.
So I need to know which diff/box will compliment the conversion the best. I believe the ratios are wrong for the e36 box but I'm not sure about the 1.8 and 2.5 box

Will it be a track or a road car? Do you do a lot of motorway miles?

It's on the road, I'd prefer a lower cruising rpm rather than it screaming, but not that dosile that it won't accelerate

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Ratios in both e30 boxes are ok for any of those diffs but only the 318is box will fit at the right angle. If you want to use the e36 box, need 2.93, 3.15, 3.23.

325 box will fit no problem. Just abit of work on the linkages but only really worth the hassle if you've a Sport box which works very well with a 3.64 or 3.73.
M42 rightness above 6500rpm, nobody can hear you scream
