RECONDITION POWER STERING RACK?????????????

i think the power stering rack has packed up cause when i turn the stering wheel to the left no problem, but when i turn it to the right is doesnt have power stering im fighting it just a little before full lock the wheel feels like its been released it feels as if something has poped out and the power stering is back i told bexly motors in bexlyheath,kent and they said it sounds like the power stering rack and said they do recondition bmw racks for Ԛ£180 and suggested not to put euro car part rack ones, i rang bmw parts dep. they want Ԛ£575!!!!! for a new rack ,i called euro car parts and they wantԚ£190 i was told euro car parts are rubish and a bmw recondition power stering rack is a lot better than euro car parts is there any truth to that i was advised by bexly motors what should i do advice needed please

Also try Motormec, normally via email - they'll get back to you quickly with a reasonable reconditioned item price and the 'Zone' endorse them too. Much of the non dealership stock will be QH or similar - all are fit for purpose, and the price will vary, Ԛ£190 sounds pretty good - exchange probably - so take this into account too.

what is better a bmw recondition power stering rack or one from euro car parts???????????????????????????witch one would you have in modded sport not a run about

Ooh, that sounds like one of the valve springs in the rack has broken. It gives assistance one way and fights you the other.

If you're so inclined, have it appart and look for broken bits of spring. You might even be able to get hold of a pair of replacements for not alot of cash and do the job yourself
