There is no way the donor shell was a Tech II, unless the kit was glued on! winkeye
Will somebody tell this muppet to F$&$ off the subframe is different because the origiinals are away getting shotblasted and powdercoated
Ive had enough of this Forum i share a project and some small minded twats are just waiting to pick faults and criticize

I think the issues the above haterzz have is the title implies this is a Sport resto, but the pictures show a 4 pot auto shell being repaired.

Personally I couldnt care less, looks like a nice weldathon that will end with a tidy car 8)

great project and nice to see some qaulity body work being carried out.

i cant understand the importance of the shell swap, happens/happened alot with mk2 escorts all the original rs2000's/mexicos where trashed and welded to within an inch of their lives. so good solid base model shells got used to restore and swap all the bits over into. surely its better to be building into a nice solid shell. rather than a patchwork quilt just for the sake of originality :?

Hats off to you, more E30's need to be saved IMO
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

This has been discussed before and I think if a new panel is ordered, I think BMW stamp it for you, Seem to remember Kos knowing the score.

this is true,
order a new scuttle from the stealers and it comes complete with vin numbers, you need to produce valid documents to do this,

this turd in question has seen some action that's definitely a 4 pot shell

will it be registered/advertised as a sport ? or a 318i with new ID ?

correct, your full chassis no is stamped on as is the shell no.

you need the V5, ID and what ever else they request and possibly a police inspection

dare i say it the cars' been re shelled but retained its original ID. in some respects this would be called a ringer, but when you have a legitimate paper trail, photos etc it is legitimate and accepted

How many mk1/2 RS escorts and now even series 1/2 RS turbos have had the same treatment?

Ringing is a bit of a harsh description as that normally involves stolen cars etc.

This subject has been discussed many a time on this forum and it's such a grey area.

No doubt there will/have been a few E30 M3'd that have had the same treatment although obviously much more work!

At least half if not more. If this ends up a mint Sport with all the right bits it's another one to be seen at shows and enjoyed by the owners, present and future.
The alternative is that it ceases to exist.
