Have you set the the pedal range in megasquirt/tunerstudio?

What is the red filter hooked upto?

Have you disconnected the hose that goes from the rocker cover to the throttle body? The hose from the rocker cover needs to vent to atmostphere or it when the engine produces boost it will pressurise the crank case, and the hose on the throttle body end needs to be blocked off as it will be letting air past the throttle plate and the engine at idle will run like you have your foot on the pedal.

Also I ran the oil line around the back of the engine

How much money have you spent on the turbo conversion? And how much bhp to you hope to extract?

Do you remember the f1 turbo cars from back in the late 70's and and 80's? They were putting out 1200bhp plus from 1.5 litre engines. You aiming for that type of figure? :?:

As soon as i saved the file in TS no errors come up, original file size is 36kb save is 41kb

The afr's will fluctuate, even at idle. Have you setup the lc1 as per the manual?

Yes but found that the live from the original e30 loom cuts out after 5 seconds, so will be changing this for a switch live. I hooked up an LED in circuit and found this.

Have you read the megasquirt guide on how to tune?

Yes

Afr can be set to any figure at idle, just make sure you have a strong vacuum.

From the Throttle body to the MS?

I think my idle was about 13.5, I didn't get best idle at stoich (14.7) and was advise to tune to best vacuum at idle.

How do you tune from vacuum? and why tune it like this?

Afr table should already be set, use that to tune to.

yes the MSQ you sent a while back was all set, do you have your Original file?

Have you set the the pedal range in megasquirt/tunerstudio?

Yes, i have read a few threads that MS recognises a difference in the wiring of the TPS and allows it to work in reverse, But TS will not allow this.

What is the red filter hooked upto?

The ICV

I did not know this, thanks for the heads up on that Chu. will change that, will this effect AFR?

Also I ran the oil line around the back of the engine

The rocker hose shouldn't change the afr's

Red filter is ok, I think I remember doing something simular.

Tuner studio didn't work for me. Is there a reason for not using megasquirt? Are you using the other program, I think it's called megalog viewer?

I think I wired the LC1 positives direct to the battery, but the earth should go to the ecu ground. The LC1 also needs to be calibrated in free air. It's all in the LC1 instruction manual, or company website.

I don't think I have any of the files, this is about 2 years now, lol.

Does the ADC count increases as you open the throttle?

Kpa is the vacuum/boost. Less than 100kpa is vacuum and above 100kpa is boost. So at idle you want to get the highest kpa reading you can whilst keeping the engine rpms at the figure you want (850rpms or whatever it's meant to be). To do this you will need to adjust the spark timing and the fueling around the 4 bins of your target rpms. Your afr needs it to be between 12&17:1, I think I had it at 13:1ish.

Remember the map I sent you is a map I modded from a 1.8, so you need to tune it. When I first plug the MS into my car i had to start from scratch and it wouldn't idle.

i'll give feedback when ive done this.

Nope just not tried, and could not find a version of it, i have now and will try it.

I do have that also

I have done this except the live, and one of the grounds on the LC1, will do this when im home, if it was on the battery would it not be live all the time or does the ecu ground activate on ignition.

I don't think I have any of the files, this is about 2 years now, lol.

Worth a shot

Ill have to report back when im with the car.

Cheers for the info dude, ill report back my findings when i do the rest.

Also im thinking of activating the ICV but thought you had issues when you did this, or did i read wrong.

I didn't get the icv working.

Just looking at your other thread about plumbing the vac lines. I'm sure I had mine all coming from the fpr tube.

I spoke to gunni some time ago and he said to do it as the diagram in that thread.

How low was your intercooler to the ground, and what was your ride height Matt?

My car was -40mm and it was very low but not a problem.

I guess Gunni knows better than me, lol.

Did you take all the front of the car off to fit the intercooler? I just slid it up into place. I secured the top with a zip strap to keep the top of the intercooler steady at the speeds and G's an M40 powered car shouldn't do.

I had the intercooler up as high as possible with the in&outlet pipes being the limiting factor

My cars way to low for this IC setup. May reroute it, but again another cost. I need to change the front shocks anyway so don't no whether to raise it or change the setup. Hopefully Change a bit today

total so far is around £1500, due to top end rebuild and stuff but that's only parts. As for a figure, I don't know.

Ok so done all the plumbing yesterday, blanked the ICV, Blanked the TB to rocker, and vented the rocker side, the car starts and dies, if a little throttle is on it will stay on but fluctuate in idle. Cannot find the ADC in Tunerstudio, so tried megatune but it will not connect to it, but port checker finds a connection. Reset the LC1 still the same when connected.

You might need to adjust the throttle stop so the throttle is open slightly more at idle. Then try tuning as like i said one of my previous post.

Tbh I don't know anything about tuner studio, so can't help you with that.

got it started an running really good, but this was only when i changed the required fuel settings and injector flow rate, i set the engine size in CC, injector flow to 25lb and AFR 14.7.

BUT when you accelerate fast it goes to cut up but picks up, and AFR spikes to 16, if you accelerate slowly its ok 'ish'

Flow rate should be 32lbs

When is the afr 16? If its 16 when boosting you will blow your engine

Should it be 32lbs at 14.7 afr?

spikes to 16 when u rev at idle

Adjust the req fuel until it´s idling at lambda 1.0 or AFR 14.7

Then tune it. Review logs and make adjustments, don´t take a ve table as granted to work for you. As it most likely won´t.

16 revving at idle will be fine and is related to your acceleration enrichment. I wouldn´t pay much attention to something like that.
With great challenges comes great engineering.
