About 10 (from memory) 13 mm bolts, then it all comes out as a unit. I took the master cylinder out still attached to the box, undo the fluid pipes on the engine bay side. And I couln't work out how the accellerator was joined to the floor, so took the top end off.

do you really need to take the box out? Going by some posts, all you need is to remove the nut on the end of the brake hingey thingy and slide the pedals off/on. Im interested as I'm thinking about doing this to my touring

i've done this (auto to manual)
you dont need to take the pedal box off.
go to a scappy's first and remove the clutch part of the pedal box, it's self explanatory how to take the pedal off, you can also grab the clutch master and slave cyl's, and the pipes to link them and either take the brake pedal(manual brake pedals have a smaller part to put your foot on),
or just get the rubber part and shape your existing pedal for it to fit.
you'll also need the bolt that all the pedals pivot on as it's longer in the manual car( to accommodate the clutch pedal)
hope this helps.

Why do all this when the whole box swaps so easily?glenn wrote:i've done this (auto to manual)

once you do the swap to manual. do you have to retune the engine to use the manual box?
