Yeah manifold has taken a very long time to be made, DI Racing have said that it will be done soon.

How is your turbo project coming along? I've seen that you're having trouble with starting the engine?

Went to DI Racing today to see the progress on the manifold. Gunni designs the manifolds, then Damian @ DI Racing is who makes the manifold.







Still needs to be TIG welded up.
I was told by someone that the collectors are very early and should be closer to the turbo flange, but I have asked Gunni and been told that this not a problem.

What do you guys think of it?

Welds look good!

Am going to be picking the car up on Tuesday. Gunni ran out of time to do the intercooler, so I will have to do it myself. Will tack the ally pipes with a mig welder and then get someone to properly tig it up.

Unfortunately not...

After 9 weeks of production (was promised it would be done in 2 weeks!) the manifold supplied by Gunni/DI racing was awful. It was not air tight, had holes in it and flanges were massively warped. Some bits had even been migd up instead of tigd. There was even splatter down the pipes and they didnt even bother to deburr some of the pipes from the inside!

So I have given them the manifold back and told them to rectify it.

I will see what they come up with and if I am still unsatisfied I will be getting a refund. The final product that they give me will determine the review I give of them...

Anyone have any thoughts on this? After reading this I have done a bit of reading into turbo manifold design and while I haven't found anything conclusive, they all show the collectors merging right on the turbo.

As soon as you understand what split pulse manifolds and split pulse turbos are about the placement of collectors becomes at lot less relevant.

Personally from te info gunni has given me before and read about what he can acheive i have no doubts in what he says .

But does sound to me asif "Damian" either cant weld up to standards or just a Plain and simple bad day at work or possible welder heat issues

And as Gunni just said Split pulse manifolds are diffrent so are te turbos slightly but if they withstand 500 odd hp of burnt fuel and crap gushing through them im sure there fine

On a brighter note hope this all gets sorted bud been waiting in anticipation for updates of what seems a decent turbo setup
