Magnetic Key Alarm

Hi

I have a 1990 325i Cab with the magnetic key factory alarm, does the alarm have a fuse, cannot see one listed in the fuse box.

Is the fuse hidden somewhere.

Chances are its fooked. Very very few of them still work

I have now got my standard E30 alarm, the one with the magnetic key, working. It turned out the problem was with the door switch plugs, they were corroded. I replaced the switch with a secondhand one and all works now. The immobilizer now works fine and deactivates with the key. The door light works as does the boot one.

I cleaned up the old door switch, now that works, I also now have 2 spare blue control boxes which work also, bought secondhand.

I do though have one question, should the car horn sound if you do not deactivate the immobilizer before opening the drivers door ?

It looks like, on BMWFANS, that there is a horn which is part of the immobilizer system.

Also I now know if all the fails I can just connect the green and the green and red wires together above the glove box.

looks like you have done your homework sharky...my cabby came with the same set up after much pi55ing around i pulled the lot out and have not hand any problems with it since.

Found the alarm horn and it is knackered, put power across the pins and nothing, working replacement on the way. So that is it one fully working standard immobilizer and alarm.
