WHAT!!!!! After all that and this close to the show???? I know I'm not going but thats a severe disappointment right there!Gortour wrote:Anyone who hasn't received, or can't print their tickets, please let me know ASAP.
I've been informed that there may be no club stands this year, so the suggestion is to meet nearby and convoy in together, those that want to.
Iain has suggested the services at Liphook, about 20 mins away at 9. Entry is 9 till half 4.
cranleigh registration is open

Does seem a major shame, for all the clubs, not just us, and short notice too.
Hoping it's either confusion on someone's part, or they have a change of heart on the day.

This is the email I received from Cranleigh show team will post second email in a bit hope this clears up the confusion
A quick update about the Classic Car Show on 19th August.
We're pleased to say that with the current warm, dry weather the Cranleigh Showground continues to dry out and the show is on!
There are a few areas of the showground that we will have to avoid, which means we don't have as much space as normal. Unfortunately this means we are unable to pre-allocate space for clubs this year. If you are able to arrive together we will do our best to park you next to one another and this is more likely the earlier you arrive.
We're sorry we can't offer the club spots this year and we assure you this is a temporary measure and, weather permitting, club spots will be available in 2013.
The reduced space also means that we won't be having an arena this year. We will still have the PA system and if you would like a few minutes of "air" time talking about your club, please come and see Nigel West in the PA caravan as early as possible on the 19th to arrange a time.
We will post updates and news on our website at www.cranleighlions.org/classiccarshow and via our email newsletter.

Second email
We've had a couple of questions regarding the changes in the club spots, which might be of interest.
There's no problem with you putting up a gazebo on Sunday, marshals will be aware that clubs may want to do this, however this year it will be harder for the marshals to spot the car club cars so please let them know when you are parking or make sure you leave enough space between two vehicles for your gazebo.
We are going to have a meeting area for clubs so that they can meet up before entering the main show together. Currently we're not sure where this will be, it may be in the public car park (to the right as you the grassed area of the showground) or in the first grassed area on the left. There will be signs on Sunday and the marshals will know where you can go to meet up.
Many thanks and looking forward to a great day on Sunday!

so pretty much as-you-were then, by the sound of it.
i shall probably attend this show now, as my Gaydon camping partners have had to withdraw and there is no way i am camping on my own, as her ladyship v v v refuses to do so, unless there are at least 3 burnt sausages, 2 spare ribs and a burger on offer from the usual donaters
so shall we all meet up just outside somewhere then, as per above email?

Up to you. More a chill day tomorrow, rather than a show & shine, and an upholding of the Zone.

Really good day, as Oz says, it was a little bit disjointed, but still a great show, with lots of varied cars, from different eras. Nice to see everyone again, Oz liked meeting Michael Barrymore, lol!!!
A special thanks to Gordon for organising the tickets.
