Can anyone tell me if there should be a long bolt which would screw the main drive lever into the motor or does it just drop in?
I seem to have a hole where the screw would fit but no screw, this is causing the lever to move backwards and forward rather than just turning.
Thanks for any help in advance.

If I've understood your problem, you're asking about the main raising rod connected to the drumstick shaped lever? Like my mate has already said pics would be good, but this rod has a screw, which isn't necessary for it to work though. Mine for example doesn't have one :D

That's exactly what I mean, mine hasn't got a screw which is causing the drumstick to rock rather than just spin, there is no screw shown in the BMW diagrams neither.

Hmm the drumstick rocking might be caused by a different problem. Have you got one of those hinge plates fitted?

Just had a thought. The drumstick shaped lever is kept in place by a long screw. Is that tight?

Gert, it's the long screw that is missing from my drumstick but the screw is not in the above diagram. I have no idea what it even looks like, so I don't know what I'm looking for.
Part 17 is all good on mine.

Brett you definitely need the long screw to secure the drum stick lever. I don't know what size this is. You're right it's not shown on the drawing supplied by will. However, a quick call to the dealers should sort you out and I can't believe
It can be too expensive.

BMW have said that they think the screw is included with the drumstick looking lever, which is £110 inc vat!! That's a bit steep considering I only need the screw!
Does anyone have any info on this screw? Is it a special BMW part or could I pick one up somewhere?

Screw 17 holds on part number 4 and not part 18, part 18(the drumstick) has another thin screw which is not shown the diagram.

Yes, I know the screw you mean Bbrett. Will, it's not shown on the drawing. That is a bit steep. It looks like it's an M5, but about 80mm long. I can't suggest where to find a replacement, though, sorry.

Without it, I can see why you're having the movement problems.
