I went to Gaydon today .... I thought it was the BMW Car Club show .... It wasn't .... Turns out ur was the Rover P6 Club , Austin Club day and all these British cars .... No where near the number of cars and people as a BMW would bring or the mix of people .... Only one fit bird !!!!

As a non-BMWCC member with a fairly nice (washed) car, how do I go about showing her off?

It was bloody hot there today.
Far fewer cars than past years and most of the best cars were in the car park and unable to enter the stands.

well i thought it was ok until i went back to my car and overheard a gentleman saying that some scumbag had stolen one of his bbs centrcaps from a E30 325 in the carpark, I guess a bmw show is a good place to steal from someones pride and joy these days, Makes me sick..

Actually it's a Verdi Ferrari cap as seen on watchdog stitching up loads of SOR victims . That and the fact that it saved me from getting fried makes it acceptableAndyboy wrote:Gaydon was excellent this year - probably the best one ever. Loads of nice cars, stunning weather and plenty of freaks/weirdos/Zoners. Good to put some more names to faces...........Pacer with his Ferrari cap!
PS Best of all it was free, something that a man of your legendary carefulness could definately appreciate !
Lol.... Saw that too !... Shame on him....Surprised he's up to that kind of thing when you consider the money he's made over the years....pacerpete wrote: Actually it's a Verdi Ferrari cap as seen on watchdog stitching up loads of SOR victims .

I went to the BMW Car Club Festival on Sunday. I had a good time. I was keen on coming mainly because it is the 40th anniversary of BMW M Power / BMW Motorsport and also the 60th anniversary of BMW Car Club.
I think it was the best ever or well up there. I turned up late between 1 and 2 .... So many cars didn't know where to start first ....
Started with the BMW Park Lane / BMW UK stands, Munich Legends had a quick look
CSLs, the BMW M Powers, Concours, 8 Series, 6 Series, M Coupes, Alpinas ....
I went a bit over the top taking photographs .... I have so many .... I couldn't spend too long looking at each car as there were so many. I would have liked to turn up earlier to soak up and appreciate the road cars more ....
My favourites .... 325i Sport in Concours section H5 SKH love to take that home ....
Park Lane 320 and their 7 Series,
E36 M3 Evolution Imola Red GT S699 ERC,
735i 779 BMW I was dreaming about poncing about in that and going 'Alright
' well prepped
E30 318i C854 WLA well prepped
Z4 M Coupe S4 DAD in Interlagos Blue and the other one ....
M3 Sport Evolution in Jet Black
E30 323i 2 door immaculately prepped
E46 330Ci Clubsport
Just nice to see a rare top of the range E46 even though not supposed to be much better than regular 330
Jenson Buttons M5
M635CSi in Black
E9 3.0 CSL in light blue
The one I wanted to take home post probably the 325i Sport because I know how much fun to drive .... Then the M635CSi. Z4 M Coupe or 735i, M3 Sport Evolution ....
I think I should have come earlier to soak up the atmosphere more. Fantastic show, well organised, plenty of cars, lots of E46 M3s, great weather, that tall brunette bird was tidy ....
Thought there were hardly any M3 CS or M3 CSL especially original without modification .... Good effort on the BMW Car Club and all the organisers

That is a really nice car. The owner is a good bloke too.
He has just dropped a bag on getting his wheels refurbed and new tyres. They were fitted Friday evening ,shame Lepsons do not know how to balance wheels........
Luckily KwikFit saved the day !!!
He has seen the light and returned the car to stock after spunking many thousands with CA (Council Automotive) molesting it.

I think when BMW have spent millions of pounds of German Deutchmarks rather on
Design
Research and Development
Testing
With all their chassis development engineers, power train engineers meeting the targets of performance, handling, safety, and trading off some performance for reliability such as lowering the rev limit, making components more durable .... Seems odd to upset the overall balance of the car ....
But I do now have an appreciation at least in why some people modify cars .... To improve box fresh package such for BMWs .... Brakes often , not sure how to improve steering feel though ....
