Pics arnt working for me (dont worry its just my internet!). Go for diamond black. Although metallic is shiney, it looks a bit grey sometimes. Diamond and metallic are hard to keep clean thou.

Very true about keeping the black clean!
But its such a gorgeous look. Would it be to much hassel to change the colour completly? I mean on the books its black but what if i change it to silver say for instance.

if the guy is amenable then i'd want to get in there and strip out whatever i could while he's painting - lights, seats anything you can. anything removed will
a) not get paint on
b) be cleaned by you
and will result in a better car at the end of the experience.
has the rust been scurfed off or cut out? (big difference)

Yeah, hopefully it will be Touringdaddy,i just cant believe how many trimmings and other bits and bobs came off it! I bought a brand new set of nuts and bolts and mountings for the bumpers just incase there some sort of corroding going on when the bumpers come off.

Nice wheels mate!!
Colour wise, if you're gettin the car resprayed why not go for a colour thats a bit different to the usual range. Just as long as its not some shocking green or pink type of colour that you see the saxos sprayed up in Max Power.
Although I take it you're just gettin a flash spray?
The guy that treated a few bits on my car sprayed his E30 in a dark olive green. Looks SWEET!

Thanks NIX!
Yeah it is a flash spray. Its main objective was to treat the rust and get a new lick of paint at the same time and sticking to my budget. Olive green huh? Mmmmm, anyone got any pics of a olive green E30? Sounds cool.

Where did you get those wheels! I'm so jealous!! Also, what sort of figure are we talking for that kind of work?
My touring is in its original Laser blue but there are a few dings I want filling/popping out and wondered how much it would be to go the whole hog and get completely done so it looks brand spankers again?
Cheers mate

Nix- your right,it does look tidy in olive green, but i just cant resist that shiney diamond black look! Thanks for posting the pic though.
Gravey- the wheels i got off good old ebay.Travelled all the way to Bristol for them! But it was well worth it.They need touching up to say the least but still come up looking nice in photos.
The whole lot is costing me Ԛ£1150 from a garage next to my work place. The guy does work on my car over the weekend.During the week he is fixing up haulage vehicles both mechanically and doing spray jobs on them.

Wassup Fez! Welcome to the zone.
The guy is based in Hackney East London. He is doing my car in his own time i.e. weekends. He had dismantled it himself and only took the really bad bits down to metal. The rest has just been sanded down.

Fez! Sorry bud but i couldnt persuade him to take on your car...well for now anyway. He said he wont be taking on any more private jobs until the end of January at least as he has to much to go through at the moment. If your still looking around for a sprayer at that time then by all means come down and show him your ride so he can see what he's up against. Until then mate i cant help. Keep having a look round or maybe hopefully someone will se this post and be able to sort you out sooner.
Good luck!

Fez: You'll have to cut out the arch out completely and weld a new one in. Theres no point whatsoever rubbing it down and treating it, as the rust will be back within a year or so. Worth spending the extra. Good luck

Have you decided on a colour yet? You mention a glossy black...if you still haven't decided, go for Jet Black, this is the colour of the Black Sport Evos, and is very very dark and glossy, hard work to keep clean though!!

Jet black yeah?!? Cool, i will check it out.I had not actually decided yet so thanks for the idea. He has just taken the bumpers off and cleaning up under them and then he going to primer it up today hopefully. All panels are straight now but my only concern is that i didnt opt to have the arch cut out but instead had it treated. The rust didnt really penetrate that much but its bugging me now. Just need to get hold of a blooming passenger door now and we are good to go!

As soon as i get this baby looking the way i wont it i will clean her everyday if need be.By the way,i am abit unsure about lights. I am preety keen on the smoked all round look.Smoked back and front lights. And all indicators. Or what about everything smoked except the back lights which will be those half crystal and half red ones going on ebay for Ԛ£100 or so? Or the good old clear all round and the back with the lights on ebay?
Whatcha reckon?

Yeah! Getting near the end now. I am going for Diamond Shwartz...nice and metallic!
Its basically being primered up.Not to sure what you mean by over spray dude
Are you talking about the dark bits? Thats just where he has not sprayed enough primer on i think.

its aresole dusted over it for when rubbing down the primer, so you can see if youv'e missed a bit, and to find any low/high bits on the body
