Just got my car back from mechanics and there's a shudder and viabration on the steering wheel at 60mph which wasn't there before it went into the mechanics.

I had the track rod ends and ball joints done as well as other things. Also he did the tracking and put more tyre pressure in.

Thanks

Interesting point

makes sence

It actually drove better before the service because there was no shudder.

I think its a loose bolt or wheels could need balancing

Will find out tmoz

a mate of mine who had a garage do his gearbox on his 206 gti had rounded the threads on the track rod ends. instead of ringing the bloody customer and saying, ''ok the track rod threads are caput you need 2 new'' (which are all of 12 quid!!) they just put the nut on best they could and said nothing.

excited to get his car back after it taking them an eternity he goes out for a rip. has a race with a motorbike on the top road so not hanging about.!
im stood outside a mates house next day when he arrives. he puts it in reverse and nothing, looking out his door thinking hes hitting the kerb we shout woah woah.... the track rod had decided at that point to drop out and the wheel just turned.!!! 8O 8O
now how lucky is that, needless to say we fitted new track rods and i told him never go there again
A 2 door e30 with 8 cylinders, what could be better winkeye :D

The wobble is still present after wheel balancing and yes in the steering
Also a slight noise from front like a loose centre cap.

All this has happened After front track rod ends

why don't you go back to the garage where the work was done?

God, cowboys. There seem to be a few about. Surprised, from limited experience, that is wasn't that the change of tyre pressure highlighted the fact the wheels need balancing, but you say it's still there. You can try taking it back again and nag them?
