Hi all, i have just had my touring wrapped with liquid vinyl. The wrap is fully removable and just as hard wearing as normal car wrap however is a fraction of the price and nothing has to be dismantled or removed from the car. Your opinions would be valuable!!

Forgot to mention the BBS have been wrapped in a glossy black.

i think you should include a before pic, and a price, so people can realy give a weighed up opinion

but looks good to me to be fair if its a far greater cost effective than paint and breathe life in to an old turd, how much was it ?

and didnt know you could wrap wheels like that, how much are wheels to do and how durable is it on them do they say ?

looks good.

like polsta says we really need a price & a before pic to truly pass comment.

Silly me, before picture is now added (not a great picture i know), the price including the wheels is 600.00 which may sound steep however if anyone out there has had a quote for vinyl wrapping you'll know this is cheap. The guy who did it for me explained that you can have any colour possible as long as you've got a sample of it he can have it matched. There are also other finishes like glow in the dark colours.

If anyone is interested i can pm you the guys number. He runs a place in south east london.

He can do gloss black like my wheels but he was telling me he wouldn't like to do a whole car although it is possible. The finish on my wheels has totally revamped them.

to be honest, £600 and the paint work from the pic looked nice.bright, and presentable before, to a matt black, im sort of out, cant help but say...why ??

but if it were a really tired and flat looking paint, and had had some surface rust sorted, treated, etc and a wrap thrown over it for a few hundred, then would of been much more better in that sense

is it 100% removabl with no damage or trace to paint ? even if left on years ?

looks quality and looks like the guy did a good job, would like my golf turbo done the same colour as that, similar looking to the porsche matt paint! 600 is decent price too! good work

The before pictures are a bit deceiving, my car looks quite bright but there are alot of areas of flatness. The wrap is 100% removable and if you want a different colour you can paint it over the existing wrap.

600 pounds?

50 quids worth of plastic, 20 minutes with a craft knife and 23p in electricity to finish it off with a heat gun that's a joke

ah ok, its a wierd one... 600 on a very nice car to change the color you may be a bit bored of, is one thing, then you think 600 on a shed to re vamp it is then a lot

its interesting tho and looks good, would like to see other colors on e30s

when compared to paint the cost is very good to be fair.

guess the big plus with this is it can be reversed later on.

600 quid... Not for me.

Considering how cheap it is to do a D.I.Y job.

Did someone not have a link on here about this? Someone had wrapped a modern BM for $100 iirc

not against the whole idea infact if it is possible to do a shiny colour to a high enough standard to look like paint im all for it!
just not a fan of the car in question looks like a home brew jobbie where the painter couldnt be arsed to strip all the trims, handles, lock ect...... but the iceing on the cake for me is the 325i badge! i could accept the handles trims and locks, but either take the 325i off to wrap and leave if off. Or take it off and put it back on!
Just looks like some lazy turd has went to the effort of masking off the bmw badge but couldnt be arsed with the 325i and painted right over it!

appart from that good job at a fair price!

I came accross this the other day on youtube, type in 'plasti dip' and there's videos of it, it also had links to a website in the states which had enough paint\wrap whatever you'd call it liquid inc aplicator gun for $200 seemed to look well and looked pretty easy to diy compared to paint, anybody found somewhere that sells vinal wrap in sheets to do a car as its easy on all interior and light etc could also be worth a diy considering the huge fitting costs

£600?

I could get an almost identical look with £20 of aerosols.

Not for me.

I think some people on here don't know that this isn't done with foil but with liquid stuff.
It's sprayed on the car end when done proper it will give a better finnish than foil.

I like it, price is good too as a mate of mine got some quotes for vinyl the other day and it's pricey!

That DipYourCar stuff though looks great, probably not so good on our rust buckets mind!

Matt black for me only looks good on something exotic, Lambos, etc.

The finish looks decent and having looked into both a vinyl wrap (circa 1K) and a full respray (circa 2K) I have to say for £600 it seems like good value.

Each to the own though

After reading a lot of the replies obviously this look is for some but not for others. To say you can get the same look with rattle cans is absurd!! Good point on the 325i badge, i was contemplating peeling that back to silver although there isn't any other silver on the car so still unsure..If anyone is interested i forgot to mention that you can have individual panels done as well. When i was there he was spraying a roof and bonnet on an Audi, looked cool as well.
