An old dude locally to me is selling a 1975 MBGBT.

Garaged for the last 10 years.

Not sure on mileage.

£495 ono

Worth a look or are they as much of a PITA as I have heard?

It is. It had the optional front anti roll bar fitted.

It does have sabrinas though which is a down side.

Much more suitable. I'll probably take one of those too.

3 piece sills and rear chassis legs are the principal bits to look for. £500 for an early rubber bumper GT needing restored is as much as you'll want to pay. Decent ones can be had for under £2000.

GT's are just about acceptable if they're 60's cars and utterly vile as rubber bumpered toss. The whole point of an MGB is that it's a roadster. A rubber bumper GT for 500 quid needs to be very tidy to be worthwhile, i.e something you can scrub up and make a grand out of.
