My e30 only has one key with it but it has everything else; tool kit, first aid kit, bill of sale... so the OEM geek inside me wants to fix it.. but I dont know what keys the car came with.

does anyone have a complete set of keys? Did they come with two keys and a master key? Anyone got any pics?

J :)

@ Verde
Not interested in chaining them, just wondered what keys it should have had from new to see if i can get replicas made up so it has everything it should have always had, but there is no issue with the locks that would warrent changing them (as I believe its a pain in the a**e to do?)

I believe they came with 4 keys but I could be wrong, this is where you need BSS325i to clarify 8)
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

4 Keys. Main light key, secondary just plastic key, then some stupid porters key or something dumb like that, then a glove box key from memory.

Four keys.

1) A key with a plastic head, containing a battery and a bulb that lights when you press the BMW badge. This key has a crescent shaped hole in it for attaching to a key ring.
2) A key with a plastic head, but no built in torch. Has a round hole.
3) An all metal key, without hardly any head at all. Has a mall round hole, and is intended as a spare key, so should be used as the pattern for any aftermarket keys you may want to have cut.

All the above should work every lock on the car, except for that on the alarm, if fitted.

4) An all metal key with an oval head and round hole. This key does not work in the glove box and boot locks.

If you are an OEM geek you will no doubt be familiar with page 7 of the Owner's Handbook.

Unfortunately, a lot of our members do not consider finding a copy of the handbook in the glovebox to be of a very high priority, when viewing an E30 that they wish to buy.

I gather that this is designed to be slipped into a compartment in your wallet - well, at least that's what I did with mine.

They would, if they could take their eyes off the unfettered glovebox plastics for 10 seconds
