Hi guys

Really need honest options what this spec E30 is really worth?

E30 325i sport 2 door
Mtech 2 kit
Full BMW history
Black with leather
80k genuine miles
Reg on 1991 H reg
Std spec with 15" bbs wheels
Seller advises no RUST

ANY IDEAS GUYS.........?

As I've got a couple to view I need to be realistic with there true value , WHAT WOULD U PAY winkeye

I'd pay circa 4.5k, if it had less owners on it, I would pay more. Each to their own.

It's not been advertised on the web, it's a friends brother whos had it sorn for the best part of a year , but claims he takes for a quick spin once a week.

Still struggling to put a price on this car?

I personally think the amount of owners is irrelavant ,if its a good car its a good car!

Plus being 20 odd years old it will still need work even with 80k on the clOck,bss had circa 40k on his when he bought it and it still needed work.

Without pics i would say 4k really,get some pics!

I will try and post pics, however 4k is a little low, even on PH E30 are fetching more than this

why is it near every e30 for sale or asked a value of on here , says "no rust" when in reality most/near alll have rust somewhere or other, or other issues

and these sort of threads never mention real condition and full spec, extras, whats been done or not, paint condition, what history exactly, any issues or faults- all factors which have impact on value, and really you can not give a value without knowing

4k may not be a little low, it might even be too high, any sport thats priced 5-6k range has to be exceptional all round, and piston head/any asking prices and what they sell for is different, also its a buyers market at the moment

Ahhh,just read that properly ,he wants 6.5k?

It would have to be minty mint for that.

Id love a sports myself,but finding a good one is difficult.

also the 80k miles, any milage, can only be varified as genuine if it has every mot from new, and not a chunk missing from the 90s, which most "low milage" e30s seem to have

80k means f-all to these cars. After 20 years, all the rubber components will still need to be replaced, and if it's been parked up then a lot of other stuff won't be in tip top condition either, so you'll need a full engine service and possibly some brake parts too.

With no photos, no real description and the fact it's not even got any tax on it, I wouldn't touch it with yours.

I understand the dilemma at the same time u have to be realistic putting a
Value on a car like this.
Yes no rust would to
Me indicate that work at some point has been carried out
To repair the surface rust and with a proper inspection you'd find the dreaded brown stuff

As for the external and paint work condition it
Looks great for it's year.

So I get the overall idea?
Anything from 4k to 6k max depending on
The condition, documented history., rock solid paperwork trail of
Maintenance Or as suggested less .


The only thing that is of concern I have seen plenty of owners go on about
There cars being rust free without stripping the car
And no photographic proof to ease potential buyers

No car with all the TLC given by its owner has any sort of preventative
Treatment on these valued and classic cars like waxoly oiled Etc

Based on your description, you'd be extremely lucky to get 4k for it.

It's worth what your willing to pay for it - you'll get a million opinions on here - try and find a few cars of similar description as benchmarks - what are you going to do with it? Sounds too good for a daily driver if the mileage is genuine - if it's an investment to be garaged and gently restored I'd pay 4.5k for it - you'll be surprised how many e30s are turned into toasters in the next 5years.

Bottom line is, without the car in front of any of us, NO ONE can put a true value on it.

For us to confirm it's worth 6.5k, the kit needs to come off and it be photographed in all the places they rot. Paint needs to be near mint and the leather near perfect.

What you are actually saying here is that you've not "inspected" the car at all. You've simply walked around it. Those boot liners need to come out at the very least, to see the inner arches.

And it the seller wanting 6.5 bags says no to taking them out, It's worth 1500 quid until he does.

and yes I will go for a second viewing with
The potential of
Getting the car in the air
Removing boot liner
Removing rear panel behind rear lights
Front and rear driver and passenger carpets
Inspect sunroof
Engine bay bulkhead etc
Can't say he would agree to striping
The mtech kit though.

Engine cold and at temp check
Electrical tests
Any other inspection within reason guys ?

This is what i dont understand....if i was selling a car i wouldnt let anybody take the kit off,but i have removed the boot liners out to check in cars before,thats easy enough...

very true, at the end of the day it doesnt matter if the buyer has £600 or £6.5K in their hand no seller is going to let them pull out the carpet, take the kit off & go at the car with a screwdriver.

You can tell all you need to know WITHOUT taking the kit off. As stated above, very few sellers are going to let a POTENTIAL buyer come along with a screw driver and start taking their car apart !

I cannot reiterate enough that if you are buying one of these cars for any more than scrap money, and you are not familiar with them, you need to get the turd checked over by somebody who knows their onions/ turds :)

I must go, I have a bill to write for a poor fool who bought a sport without getting somebody that was clued up to check it over :(

I am going to need some more pens ! :D

When i bought my first e30 i thought it was the best one on the road....and it turned to be tge biggest shed anyone has ever seen!
So as above get someone who knows what they are looking for.

Okay maybe not remove the kit but the boot trims are essential and easy to remove. Any seller who disagrees to removing them either has something to hide or is frightened he will have once they are out!

As pete saya take someone who knows them along to the viewing.

Its gotta be a minter for 6 and a half large though. And if he's asking that he should be having the car up on stands with all the wheels off and the boot liners out by the time you get there. Thats if he's even half as confident that its as good as 6.5k demands.

Finally the penny drops!
All majority of these cars have not been restored, as we are talking about a car which is 20+ years old and the passion overrides our judgement, there's a lot of crap out there, scrap metal.

All over priced by deluded owners who think these cars can command a premium without no justification besides its a 325 Sport. The cars are only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Some come with crazy modz which for some insane reason is seen as an upgrade to the OEM spec.
Some come with body panels hanging off apparently this helps with the down force lol
Some are praised to be Mint and tbh I don't think ppl truly understand that statement.
