dying
Moderator: martauto
I have recently got leather seats that are predominately black, i need to change a few things ie the pillers, consoles door cards etc. But i was wondering if i can get away with taking the rear shelf out ...is it possible to dye the shelf? has anyone done this and what did you guys use?
I'm in the same boat and if you can do carpets I don't see why not, most definately going to give it a go!

I tried dyeing the shelf in my E34, looked poor afterwards (but that could have been poor quality dye,)
The took the original cover off & recovered it with "accoustic carpet", looked absolutely superb IMO (& most other people who saw it,)
Just a second option for consideration if the dyeing doesn't work,

Gone, but not forgotten !!
Matt black in a rattle can works very well on parcel shelves
