ECU 0261 200 074

Need technical Q/A then you're in the right place

I have an ECU with this number 0261 200 074 (24 pin chip) on it but don't seem able to find a replacement to try to see if mine is broken. It is from an 87 325i Sport. Apparently my car is in changover period so hard to know what it has.

Can anyone shine any light on this ECU, problems, fitment etc and if there is a spare to try out there, please let me know.

That ECU is from a 1985-87 5 Series 525E (2.7) Bocsh Motronic ML3.3.

ECU Listings

The correct one for yours should be 0261200081 or 0261200173

that explains the 5K limiter then :lol:


0261 200 073 is the correct ECU for this ride.

Thanks guys, that makes sense then......now just gotta find the right one. Why were they limited a 5k rpm?
