You've got the same set up as me. My slave shat itself the first time I used it. I changed the slave and remember noticing how easily it fitted compared to the previous one. It's been absolutely fine since, so yours should be too.

mine did the same the rod popped out looked abit worn so got a new one after about a 3-4 weeks got a sweak as the clutch was at the floor. checked the slave and the rod had been pushed out again. had a check on the net and realOEM, there is a 5mm gap that has to be made up on the release bearing. some get away with it and some dont it seems.
the bearing they say use is a E30 323i as its got the 5mm extra for the folk on it but i just used bits from a old bearing the take up the 5mm gap. Now its fine!!!
also bought a new pivot point and spring for the folk just incase. they cost pence from bmw
