Hi Guys,

This might sound a bit silly but i wanted to give my ICV a clean with a carboretor cleaner, is this okay to do?

Its just on occasional start ups it feels like the valve just doesnt kick in at times and engine cuts out when i take my foot off the gas, but after a tap with a screwdriver on the ICV and restart, it kicks in..?

Do you guys have any pointers for removal? Its a late 325i - 1992

Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

thanks, tripp

Perfectly acceptable, fill it, shake it, repeat. You should end up with a valve that will flick open easy in your hand.

i used to put mine in the ultrasonic cleaning tank so just the valve part was in the cleaning solution, come out like brand new, same with the throttle butterfly and any parts i just chucked them in for 20min.
