Hi

I have had my e30 for 7years now and it's getting a bit tired. I am in the process of getting quite a bit of paintwork done but, the main problem I have at the moment is the central locking. The fuel cap won't open as I have to manually open the car, therefore, no petrol and no work can be done :?

It makes a buzzing noise from the drivers footwell but most of the time, eventually, it opens. However, now it won't budge and I'm a bit stuck. Any ideas?

Also, I have cracked an alloy on the inside rim. Does anyone know of a good place in or near Bristol which can do a good job for a reasonable price?

Thanks for any help in advance. P.S. Great site :D

You can gain access to the fuel flap locking motor from inside the boot, it does have a manual unlocking thingy...

yes, just remove the carpet/cover from the side, and you will see all the gubbin's.

Yea remove the carpet and remove the solenoid, then it won't be locked. My central locking was fine but the bloody solenoid seized :|

I reckon I have a dodge solenoid also. For ages it will work, then stops, then works again, rubbish!

I have an old friend who does all my paintwork. He recentley did my 98 M3 Evo and it is always perfect. He is based outside Corsham but is well worth dealing with.

If you want I can give you his details :D
