I'm looking at buying a 2.5 lump for my motor. I have sourced one which seems good and cheap but will need rebuilding. Basically im sure this has been covered on here millions of times but.
My car is a pre facelift model and the engine is out of a facelift touring. What issues am i going to run into fitting this bad boy?
Also it had an auto box and i would be proposing to use a manual.

If it needs rebuilding, then I'd leave it where it is and find a better one. Plenty out there with at least 100,000 miles of reliable life at full performance left in them.
No problems using one from an auto, other than you'll have to fit it with a flywheel, clutch and spigot bearing to mate it with a manual box.
No problems fitting it, as long as it's complete with loom, and your car has the later type 20 pin round engine loom socket. There are things to check, like pin 20 compatibility, and you may have the well known issue with getting the tacho and econometer connected, but this is all easily dealt with.
Since you haven't told us what engine the car has now, you may need the cooling system for the replacement engine as well.

Cheers Brian
It was flippin cheap and i wouldn't mind having a go at rebuilding one but definitely take your point.
Based on what you say about Flywheels etc... I will try and get one that is already manual and a bit more up for the job.
