Okay so a few months ago I snapped my drivers side crank handle when winding up the window, so I swapped this for the passenger side which recently snapped clean in two !

I am leaning more towards weak design than my "immense" strength :P

Are the crank cog sizes the same across e30, e36 and e34 models ?

I've tried to source replacement e30 winders that don't cost the earth to no avial.

Any help would be very much appriciated.

Thanks in advance

Try removing the door card and lubing up the winder mech. before fitting yet another handle.

Other thing to check whilst you have the door in bits is that the glass slides freely up and down when dis-connected from the lift gear, bit of KY gell( winkeye )or vasaline in the window rubbers will help here.

You may find that the glass 'tips' a bit from end to end, this will indicate worn guides in the door frame.

Mostly, this is a time fix rather than a 'spend' fix! :D
