haha so many memories in this thread!! Had most of them myself (louvered rear window, wiper slats, kc's, CB ariel, anti-statics, cherry bombs, etc.) never rocked a set of white Weller 8-spokes though but painting the letters was de riguer!!

Well that was the 80's, what about the 70's though? Bet there's a few who's rocked portholes, jacked up springleafs, bubble windows, fake bonnet bug catchers, metalflake paintwork....

I currenty have a set of slot mags on a Minor Traveller, with funky purple painted inserts (done by the previous owner of the wheels):

Nah, apparently his small-block Chevy fell apart, shortly after buying it!

Whereas, the 1275cc MG Midget engine I fitted into mine is still going strong, many years after I rebuilt it back in August 1994. :)

Anyone remember those waving hands you stuck on the windows in the early 80's?
I remember my uncle had one in his Maxi, go over a bump and the whole family spun round to watch this hand flop about.
Im sure some had pathetic slogans too, stuff like 'Honk if you are happy'
Imagine the slogans you could get nowadays. 8O

Nowt wrong with slot mags - an all-time classic wheel. 8)

They look very similar to the ones on my Minor Traveller.

I stuck a cherry bomb exhaust on a mrk2 powder blue Fiesta 1.1 pop... along with an XR2 kit on it... I'd still love a mrk2 with no kit, just with a set of pepper pots on.

I used to skateboard with the owners son of Rip Speed.. Jason Rip..

It was my first car and my brother gave it to me when I was 15, I sold it to a mate shortly after that piccy was taken, which was about a year after passing my test. I had put on a new front panel, front wings, arches and had just replaced a rusty door with that one in the pic. I then saw and drove an XR3i and bought that so the Mk1 had to go...

Pity - bet you wished you'd kept it now, the prices of 2-door Mk1 Escorts being what they are.

The one I should have kept was the RS2000 Mk2 Custom with 60k on the clock which I traded for an Astra GTE in 1993.

What would that be worth now :(
