Hello, I have just bought some alloys which are 8j ET25 and 9j ET20 16's...

Just wondering what tyres i should be running... mainly for what fits best under the arches with very little rolling if pos but i dont really want stretch... is there a compromise somewhere?

:)

Pics of what people have would be cool :) cheers!

Wrong. Those types won't work on an E30
You need 225 40 16 on the rear with stretch or you'll have to pull and roll the arches if you go any higher on the profile.

ok i was going to go for a 225 45 16 as i dont want to go too low on the profile as i dont want to give the rim every chance if i were to hit a pot hole! there are some cheap 225 40's on the bay atm i'll watch them ;)

you'll find 45's will be a bit more balloon like and a bit more rubby... is the car lowered at all?

Also wrong

215/40 on the 9s
205/40 on the 8s

I run 9j allround with a big drop on 215/40s and theres no clearance issues what so ever

the 9's have an et of 20, surely 225.40.16's will rub against the arches?

Mine had 215 40's on the 9j's et15 and rolled arches and they still scrubbed, that's lowered 60 though! I had 205 45 on the front 8j's and there was no stretch at all, looked quite balloony tbh!

Yep 50's all round!

There 225/50/16 on the rear and 205/50/16 on the front, I can drive it around the yard but I wouldnt risk it on the road...

Should be ok with ET20, its when you go ET15 or lower when you get problems
